Self doubt, PTSD and using the snake eating itself iconography but in a more unravelled way. It harks back to that but instead of eating itself, it is anguished and pained.

 

Then the knotted feeling and sickness in the entanglement. The snake is also deformed. By not having a clear end or body flow line - this symbolises the fact that you look like you, but something is wrong, people close to you see it, others don’t. Hidden illness/sickness, you think you recover, but there it is, back again. Nothing I can do. Nothing I can say. Nothing I can change. And I eat myself.
